I would like to take a moment to articulate our philosophy on futures trading. I believe that if you better
understand our approach to the markets you will better understand the choice of tools we provide. Having been part of the futures industry for almost twenty-five years, I have seen more traders approach the markets than I can count. I have seen some of the best at work and have also seen some of the worst. Witnessing all of these traders has provided me an enormous education into trading and human behavior. There are many books that speak to this, and I probably don't need to repeat many of these clichés, but these years of working with traders and trading my own account have been the cornerstone to my philosophy.
Very simply, it all comes down to discipline, consistency, and sound risk management. Opportunities are constantly presenting themselves in the market. You will need a disciplined trading process and have the willpower to execute it. Opportunities do not work on our schedule, they work on their own. Trying to time when markets move and trading when we "feel" like it simply will not work. Sound trading demands that you
consistently monitor and trade the markets. Additionally, if you do not have a logical form of risk management you will be destined for trouble from the start. You may have a good run in the short term, but in the long run you will eventually fall off a cliff.
